WIP Harold

Hi,

I am working on a nurgle herald by forge world. This is the first display peace i have worked on and my first real go at blending.

I thought I would post up a couple of WIP shots to see if anyone has any criticism for the work so far and also to ask for a bit of advice.

Heres the snaps:

I have pretty much done all I can do with the main skin tone. It is not perfect blending but I have been over it so many times I will have no detail left soon. However I am wondering weather it might be worth adding coloured glazes, to add more interest. I have not tried this before so I don't know weather to give it go or try it on another mini. If I were to add any glazes any ideas of what colour would work.

Also I want to make the boils and cuts look more sore, painful and diseased, any ideas on how to achieve this look and what colours I would need.

Any help with these things will be appreciated are any other advice or feedback would also be appreciated.

cheers

With my plague bearers around their sores and pustules I used a Leviathan purple wash over them to darken them up and then once dry thinned down some Mouldy Ochre from the P3 range of paints and tried a very thin circle around the burst pustules, once this was dry I did a tiny sliver of Ivory from the Vallejo range on thin slivers of the burst circles, works well if you do it on the pre popped ones as well just be conservative with the Ivory, make it look like a pin head.

Hi, if you add the things falloutraven pointed to the model will become better. the blending in itslef is good I believe atleast what I can see. Perhaps you in some plaes could push the highlights even more and as youself mentioned to use glazes off diffrent kinds to give more intrest to the skin.

cool thanks for the input kretcher. I am gonna have a crack and see what I can do.

For the glazes i'm thinking yellow, turquoise, red and purple. Would they work?
