Well on my way to work this morning (if that wasn\'t bad enough)

I lovely woman decided she would make my day worse by doing this to my car.

This is the second time some silly woman has smashed into the back of me, first time, my car was saved, but this time, all the frame is and underneath of the car is smashed in.

I\'m afraid it looks like it\'s gonna be the \"Big Car show room in the sky\"

That sucks!

And that is exactly how I started off the New Year---by getting my truck smashed up....so I can definately empathize.

But, my insurance company got right on it, gave me a settlement, and its in the shop as we speak.

But it still sucks....

Sorry.

It\'s a sinking feeling no matter which bonehead caused it... a shiny new one should take your mind right off your old ride. :) It works that way with woman too, I hear. :D

Her Vechicle was a lovely Mercedes 2004 reg.
Ah, this brings a tear to my arse it does. Stupid bint.

Thank goodness you weren\'t injured (I assume?). The car is replaceable. Is she a neighbor? You said she did it before. I hope the replacement is even better. (BTW How does insurance work in the UK for Automobile collisions?)

Is that tear as in CRY or tear as in RIP?
Either way it\'s quite a disturbing thought.

@philogus If the woman is found to be at fault for the accident (not a given) then her insurer (if she has one) will pay what they deem sufficient to get a replacement vehicle the same as you had before. So if you have a 1978 nissan micra with 250,000 miles on the clock they will give you a sum to get a 1978 nissan micra with 250,000 miles on the clock. In reality the sum you receive is never actually sufficient to cover the cost of the replacement vehicle and you sure as hell won\'t get new for old.

This is why you need to have a bad case of \"whiplash\" (not that kind if wiccan is about) so the compensation will go towards your new car.

I in no way endorse the filing of false claims or the breaking of the law :innocent:

Ah! So it works very similar to our insurance situation. :)

since all those \'no win, no fee\' adverts came out we have had a massive increase in people coming in to have their necks xrayed. they don\'t seem to realise that radiation is not good for you (regardless what people have said to you supervike!)- especially when aimed at radiosensitive areas like your eyes and thyroid

Nasty little bump there Talion. I\'m assuming there are no glitches with the insurance? I know it\'s going to put you out, but life would be a little bit harder without a replacement. Where do you work by the way?

I\'m feeling the affects of the bump this morning. I\'ve been hit before, but because she caught me on the corner, the affect of the crash, seemed a lot more violent in the car. Knocked my glasses off my head, and emptyied by glovebox.

Although the damage doesn\'t look that bad, she\'s destroyed the frame underneath the car, the fuel injector, and the rear side panel (most expensive panel i\'ve been told), and the boot is bent about 4 inches inside the car.

Id be suprised if the garage, even thinks about repairing it.

Insurance has gone smooth, she admitted to playing with her radio so liability was not an issue.Getting a new car\'s going to be the problem now.
