Why do you keep hitting yourself?

With Compel and Promises of the Lord of Lies upon a successful Will Attack you get to make an enemey model use one of its attacks against itself or a model within 2". This brings up a couple of questions.

1) Can this attack benefit from Inspires, Trainings or Insights (if certain Shael Han units)? I am guessing no.

2) Can this attack benefit from Special Abilities the model might possess? Also guessing no.

3) If the Attack does further effects like Bounce, moving the model an amount of inches before the attack or Shattering Strike, do those trigger and if so is the attack being considered as coming from a friendly model and targeting an enemy? For that last clause, if I am facing Nasier and I use Compel on my opponents Greathorn, do all the Nasier still count as enemies so the Greathorn punches two other Nasier and itself in the face? Several attacks have bonus effects on enemy models.

4) Can you choose an Attack that triggers another Attack or the same Attack again? Like say the Blood Engines Eat Without Hunger attack or Madam Mui's jumping attack or The Dragon Slayer's Felskar Harness which can activate Dragonslayer Swords.

5) If a model targets itself for the attack and has Knockback on the attack is that effect wasted and if not which direction does it get Knockbacked?

6) Could you use a Hadross attack to Resonate other Hadross for a later use of a Compel like attack to make use of Resonate? Honestly, way too action intensive for what you get out of it.

7) Are Attacks only actions that have the potential to do damage? In other words could you instead do an ability like Night Mistress' Come Hither to move other models around? Another odd thing is Attacks/Actions with Special in the spot where Will/Magic/Melee/Range/etc tends to go. So Kozakar's Pathfinder and War Dancer's Deadly Flourish. One does damage the other doesn't but both are labeled Special.

Well that is all the ways I can think of Compel and its equivalent attacks interacting oddly with other peoples stuff. Thanks for looking.

1. No, because it is not a Combined Activation.

2. Depends on the ability.

3. Bounce would be no, as it is assigning additional dice to other models. Compel states the attack targets that specific enemy or an enemy within 2". At no point do friendly models become enemy models with Compel.

4. You could, but it would have no effect as as soon as the attack is complete Compel would expire.

5. Would be wasted, a model cannot be knocked back directly from itself by the rules following "directly away"- well, rather, the max it could go is 0"

6. Again depends on wording. Currently the only Resonate effect that is both on an attack and doesn't specify enemies is Resonating Echo... So yes, technically you could. Note that most Resonate removal comes from Special Abilities, however, which you do not gain control over.

7. Attacks are Attacks (Melee, Ranged, Will, Magic). Special Actions are Special Actions, and are in no way Attacks. One or the other doing damage does not factor into this. Compel allows you to use an Attack, not a Special Action.

RE #1, would it not potentially benefit from a training? Because those dont require a combined activation.
No clue on Insights.

Yes, it would benefit from Training, should it modify the attack in some way.

Insights are chosen when a model activates, which is not happening with Compel.
