White Primer Troubles

I have always used a black primer with smooth results. The I bought a white GW primer, I store it correctli at normal temperature in a not humid , not dry place (my room), and I shaked, But it gave me anyway the gritty texture on the surface of the mini; what should I do?
Thanks, Richilincez

Got any pics??

I have heard of this before, you could always take the mini back to GW and see what you have done wrong or ask for a new spray can.

...Well thats what i will do:)

With white it is more important to spray from a good distance and apply 2 or 3 thin coats - as it is thicker than black. Give it a good shake and spray in short brusts flicking your wrist accross the mini as you spray. Do this from about 8 - 10 inches away.

Spray is always a little gritty anyway - its never completely smooth - just a fine grittiness that doesn\'t really affect anything. There is also a chance its a faulty one so if you cant seem to get it to spray right take it back and complain hehe.

simple..... before you go and spray fill up a small bowl with hand hot water. place spray can in the water upright so the bottom 5cm is covered by the water for 1 minute.

then go outsideand shake the can for another minute and spray your mini.

this mixes the paint up with the propellant and stops it drying before it hits the mini (the grain texture is dry paint not sticking properly)

This is caused by either the spray drying before it hits the model, or by humidity. Also you need to make sure the can is very well shaken (but not stirred).

I always spray on hot dry days. Try spraying a little closeer and only do a light covering to start. If this doesn\'t work it may be the spray is off.

you never get these problems with brush on primer :D

The grain will also be caused by not pressing completely on the nozzle. Sometimes if the nozzle is only partly depressed enough propellant will spray but a good air/paint mix is not made and that will cause it to dry before it actually hits the model also, causing the grainy buildup.

This phenomenon also shows up sometimes in airbrushing and with many brands of paint. Armory primer seems to exhibit it the most.
