just wondered which rackham mini theyve found most difficult to paint, ive recently been and i use the term loosely painting a fianna, and some of the details are so fine and small it is proving rather challenging

Yes, I\'ve had all six of the orignial fiannas mock me from their stripped dungeon on my desk! I\'ve primed and stripped them 3 times now and they just sit their. Of course, this is back when I was first starting out, but I\'ve yet to try them again.

I also hear the red Lioness gives people temporary insanity whereby they scream \"Filagre! Filagre!\" for about a week... :p

My two cents...

That Razheem the Insane (check out Honzas) mini looks like it would cause a little insanity...
However, I think their fire elemental would be be awfully tricky to pull off as well. Their space-alien-mutant-painting-gods don\'t seem to have much trouble with them though.

I didn\'t have such a hard time with the fiannas, actually I liked painting them except the ugly one with her sword on her shoulder and the 2 pigtails. That was an ugly one.
I think the hardest are the Lions with their detail armour.

I agree with Deerheart...

I think \'Razheen the Incensed\' was named after the poor guy who had to paint him for Rackham. That new one \'The Aberration\' looks a bit of a bugger as welllol

.

If you have one anywhere near to you try a Hobby Craft store and look for \'clip on magnifiers\' If you wear glasses.
Otherwise it\'s Micromart and look for the jewellers magnifiers. They feel& look stupid but work wonders for fine detail resolution.

I\'ve painted several models of about every army and I must conclude that \'Misan le clairvoyant\' is possibly the most difficult one to paint. Some other difficult mini\'s are the \'Lionne Rousse\', \'Fianna musician\' and \'Nerân l\'épouvantable\'. Some other challenging paint jobs I have in mind are \'Sered\' and \'Razheem\'.

i think they are all nigh on impossible to paint well! damn my lack of skills. my paintjobs never seem to do the sculpt justice

I find that the alahan valkeries are thinner than the fiannas and their details are near impossible to paint. That\'s one of the reasons I respect Johnny Wong (Did I get his name right?) with his fire valkerie and her dragon blade.
I have no idea how someone can do such a thing.

A bit OT:
But if you\'ve ever accembled the new Griffon duelists, they\'re by far, THE HARDEST to pinn hands down!

Same here...
I curse a lot while painting.
Actually, I think I learned an entire new vocabulary since I started confrontation...

Name of the game

I sit and stare at my unpainted Rackham minis on a regular basis. As soon as I feel a little masochistic - I reach for one and try to paint it. Oh the pain and pleasure of it all ;)

Once the feeling passes, the figure goes back on the shelf and I go do a bit of gardening....well it works for me :D

Personally I think the name Confrontation sums it all up.....a battle between modeller and the model. But they are just soooooo nice ain\'t they??!?
