I havent come across any of that thick cork that you snazzy fellas are using for rocks. Where can a guy find it?

I\'m not sure if it\'s exactly the kind of cork you mean, but I saw a three pack of cork at Michael\'s (the craft store) the other day... I\'m not exactly sure of the dimensions, but I think they were 12\" x 12\" sheets, about 1/4\" thick, maybe a little bit thicker, and I want to say it was less than 10 bucks, but again I wasn\'t really paying attention, I just happened to notice it and sort of filed it away for future reference that Michael\'s sold it. You could probably try other craft supply stores as well.

A few suggestions -

Buy a cork tile and smash it up
Drink champagne (my preferred option obviously) - or find someone who does
Model train shops
Web sites like antenociti (I bought a bag of cork boulders there)
The suggestion of restaurants is also a good one - if you go in one evening you may be able to get a handful then and there

Hope it helps

Office supply stores (staples, office depot, office max, etc.) have 12\"x12\" tiles and larger sheet cork.

Ikea has a cork coaster set.

Dorks for Orks
aye model train, hobby, an craft stores all got selections of cork, I got some regular corks in a 4 pack for 99 cents at michael\'s. I know loews sells the 1 foot tiles last time I checked em out they had several thicknesses and if mem serves a couple colors/textures (for some reason my brains tellin me that the darker board was bigger hunks of cork and the lighter was finer but I might just be goin crazy)

I am not sure what sort of set up you have with regards to recycling where you are but I ask the guys at our local bottle/can recycling depot to save some corks.
As many corks go in the bin and not with the bottle, when my supplies get low at the depot I ask the local pub to save me a small box that lasts for ages....well at the rate I paint at it does.
Craft stores usually stock cork and you can get cork tiles as mentioned but I know here in Oz you pay a premium for those types of cork products.

When stuck for cork I also use the cork like marine floats that are put on fishing nets etc. Does the job when strapped for cork.

i found some at the hobby shop a few big chunks of it in a bag, for about 30AUD, HEKI was the brand, i think its a german brand or something, idk, from them i also bought some small cork chunks called cork boulders.... but i think 30 bucks is really steep for cork!
