When does Bleed damage occur?

Did a search for bleed and didn't find anything. The definition for bleed in the rulebook is:

BLEED: Hero takes 1 Damage per Action performed.

Does this damage happen after the action is completed, or before? I assume after due to "performed", but would like clarification. Thanks!

Bleed deals 1 damage after the action has been completed.

Good catch. We were doing it at the start of each action and had not hit the obvious scenario where it would ko the hero before they can act. Thanks for asking.
