Bah! It\'s not cold here. Sheesh! This is Chinook weather. We had -30c a couple of weeks ago.
So for games or miniatures you MUST visit http://www.sentrybox.com/
a.k.a.
Biggest Games Store in Canada
Bring your wallet.
If you\'re into Out of Print stuff. Just ask one of the (older) employees about it and say where you\'re visiting from. They have a number of storage areas that hide product that spans the store\'s 25 year history. There\'s also a historicals model section that\'s within but separate from the rest of the store too.
If you\'re into the \"walking the mall\" thing, Chinook Centre is kinda cool with the usual North American shopping centre fare. There\'s some nifty metal sculptures of dinosaurs and mechanical weird flying things near the food court that\'s worth a peek if you happen to be there. The mall also has our only remaining Games Workshop store.
There a couple of small hobby stores around too, but Sentry Box kinda tends to kill competition because they carry most everything already (and at lower prices). Some are not bad though, like the previously mentioned Small Soldier and such.

Chinook hobby is more for model trains and plastic kits. (could be one of the worst web sites ever too!) It\'s old and dusty, the employees are about the same too. But I make a trek across town every once in awhile to buy the majority of my hobby tools there.

Great White has some decent painted armies on display, but is pretty much a stock GW store except they have some other hobby related items like puzzles and lego and wooden trains....

The folks at PM hobbycraft have earned the local nickname of PMS hobbycraft due to their moody employees and confusing logo. It\'s a pretty wild store for anything related to plastic kits, ship building stuff, RC cars, slot cars, trains. Some GW products and Andrea paints can be had here, it\'s a nice bright warehouse type store in the north east.

There are others, just check the phone book. But make sure you see Sentry Box for absolute sure.

For tourist stuff:
If you can handle dodging the bums downtown, the Glenbow museum is okay. There are a number of (modern) art galleries dowtown too. Further east from the core is the zoo, especially if you\'re with kids it is worth a peek too.
Unfortunately our historical sites and parks are still pretty much closed right now, because it\'s still technically winter.
If you\'re really brave, get down to Canada Olympic Park and strap on a pair of skis, or even do a bobsled run.
Or ta hell with the city bull**** and go one hour west and visit the rocky mountains. There\'s a number of world class ski resorts and some of the finest landscape in North America.
