What would Forge World do...

I finished reading Dan Abnett's DOUBLE EAGLE and while at a friends place we started talking about the fighters that were flown in the story. The aircraft that tweaked my interest was the Commonwealth K4T Wolfcub. As I read the story, this plane came to mind HE-162. I was kinda thrown a challenge to build one that would look like something that Forge World would have produced.

My problem is, all of Forge World/GW aircraft all have flat wings. The Wolfcub was an obsolete atmospheric fighter not an advanced Imperial designed aircraft, like the Thunderbolt, Lightning & Thunderhawk. To keep the Forge World look would I have to built the aircraft with square, flat flight surfaces ( same look ) or built it with curved aerodynamic surfaces ( the right look ). Since the Wolfcub was based on a different set of ideas for flight , I would think it would look wrong for this fighter to have flat wings to keep the Forge World look but to give it curved wings would not look like a Forge World/GW model. Everytime I start thinking I end up in this loop.

Any suggestion?

Maybe go for more of the F-4 Phantom II style bent wings? Not that far off from the Valkyrie I suppose?

From what I can remember (it was a while ago I read this book) thinking at the time it was more the engines that were different to this compared to the newer fighters in the story therefore it is possible that wing design didn't differ at all?

Way I look at this is that the Imperial "Aircraft" are based around Brute Force Thrust and not Aerodynamics.
If you want to make an aircraft with a different "feel" then wings adhering to the Bernouli lift concept wouldn't go amiss.

Haven't read the book, but. Maybe drop the tips of the wings down more that what the 162 was and square off the nose? Maybe the weapons cluster vs the rounded nose?

As aside, three months from drawing board to production! And it sounded like it wasn't all that bad of an aircraft. Boy, those Germans could design stuff quick. Guess it helps to have a lot of pissed off people with guns coming at you to get those creative juices flowing. :smile-big:

Thanks for the suggestions.
I guess I have to sit at the drawing table and come up with a few ideas, squared airframe and flat wings or rounded designs to see
which looks best and which would look like something ForgeWorld would have designed and produced.
