What kind of glue to I have to use?

Ok, I am stumped, I just tried gluing together these figures, waited until the morning and they just pop apart easily. When I used to wargame, I used superglue and pinning but I stopped wargaming years ago and now just do model kits and other hobby stuff. normally this liquid cement I have can fuse anything, scale model kits, pvc figures etc. However, these figures, the plastic refuses to fuse and even with 5 hours curing time my liquid cement is not enough. So before I coat these guys in layers of plastic cement, what the heck should I be using, please don't say epoxy.

Have you tried putting a small dot on either piece, waiting a bit, then putting them together? The plastic cement basically breaks down the polymers so that they can fuse with something else that is also broken down. It also helps to rough up any piece that's too smooth by making some shallow cuts. If all this doesn't work then try regular superglue.

SDE minis while plastic are not the kind of plastic that you can glue with liquid cement.

Quite a lot of figures nowdays while plastic can only be glued with superglue or with a 2 component resin glue.

So use superglue for them and forget the liquid cement here.

I am new to SDE and before assembling everything i would like to know if Gorilla superglue would do the job for those mini? I guess its standard superglue you can find in any store. If no do you have a brand that would work great?

most likely the gorilla one too.(I don't have any, used loctite for my sde-s, but superglue is superglue)

if not 2 part epoxy then superglue. SDE minis are a weird PVC type rubber/plastic.

Don't use Gorilla glue. That stuff expands when it dries! You'll have crooked seams and stuff.

The SDE figures don't partake of the usual chemical reaction that most model plastics use. That cement is basically just a way to make the plastic soften long enough for the two sides to fuse together upon drying.

I prefer Zap A Gap glue. The liquid, not the gel. The gel always comes erupting out of the tube when you use it. It sucks.

this one I glued my metal Daemon prince from Warhammer 40K, and it droped 5 feet into the floor, the only thing that got broken off was his hand, but that joint is so tiny.
I do sugest cleaning the models in soaby water before gluing, even before painting.
Well some expansions came pre asembled (think the Caverns of Roxor came pre asembled, I can be wrong)

The expansions are already assembled, luckily! Though if you are painting them you might have to fill the gaps in the base (green stuff or just tape works). So far loctite gel is my favorite.

You're thinking of the gorilla wood glue. That does indeed expand when it sets.

The gorilla superglue acts like any other superglue product. I use the thicker one when I glue clump foliage together for my smoke/flame markers and it works great.

However, for gluing models together, I prefer the loctite product.

I have a plastic trash can on my outdoor deck. One of the "tabs" on the lid snapped off. I tried every product I could get my hands on to fix it. This product from Loctite, the plastics bonding system, was the only one that held. It seems to work well on plastics that won't bond or hold using any other glue type, including super glue. If the super glue fails to hold the models together, I would recommend trying this product.

I actually just used gw plastic glue and everything is fine and dandy
If I have problems down the line I have plastic weld.
