What colors to use for Red Templar Marines

Hi guys,
As always I try to get advice from some of the more skilled painters out there before starting another commission. Customer wants his army to be based off the red templars chapter (PIC below)
Just want some advice on how to achieve a very similar look to the picture below all the way from base coating to what colors to highlight with. Any help is always appreciated. Thanks, SNS

I see some scab red mixed with black on the lower legs.

scab red with blazing orange highlights around the edges of the hard armor.

blood red for the purity seal waxy portion.

regal blue eyes, with ice blue outlines blended a bit where they meet.

Well that\'s what my eyes tell me, but I could be way off.

How do you get the base color for these guys?

I can\'t figure out how to get this exact dark red like GW did on there red templar example. I have tried a couple times and never comes out right. I can match the highlights close enought and all the gold ect ect. Its just being able to mass produce this dark red like in the photo for 50 marines that is kicking my butt. Please help if you can.

Looks like the base coat/shadow has got either black or dark brown added to it. This is presuming that it\'s been painted only with GW colour - its possible there may be some VMC used as well, as their red range is good.

Personally if I trying this, I\'ll likely start out with a Scab Red & Black base coat, layering up to pure Scab Red, then layering up to Red Gore, and then through to Blood Red then add a flesh colour for the edge highlights. That said I could be well off the mark. Probably darken a few shadows further with a bit of thinned Black Wash
