I have recently started trying out a wet blending technique which is difficult in itself as i am just testing and experimenting without any lessons etc, but i use water only to thin down my paints (gamesworkshop) and i have noticed a glossy shine to the model, now i wasnt sure if this is normal or whether i am doing something wrong? any help at all?

should sort itself after a few layers - otherwise try a thin matt avrnish

make sure the paints are very thin..
if they build up too thick they will go shiny...
welcome and what the others said ..May sort it out or a quick spray with Testor\'s (Dullcote) will help.

Thanks for the replies, if you check out my most recent model, a swooping hawk from GW you will notice the shine on the model, which isnt a coat of varnish but actually the wet blending glossy effect i mentioned, maybe i am rushing it a little and putting on too much paint, ty for the advice i will give it another go.

That really is shiny! Are you sure its just water?

Like the others said a coat of dullcote will do wonders.

Do a search on the forums for suppliers. I got my last lot from id gaming.
