So I've run into a strange problem and I'm trying to figure out exactly what went wrong. I just finished basecoating a Kobold Ogre for Super Dungeon Explore and began applying a wash to all the flesh parts. Once I'd applied the wash, I was quite puzzled to find that the deepest recesses of the model had the exact opposite effect I'd hoped for; namely, the wash made these parts significantly lighter to the point that they're closer to a bone white color. A crude photo is below; note the bright green just above the elbow joint. There are points like this all over the model.

Since it's a fairly large model, I'll probably just go over those parts with the base color and just not bother washing the fleshy areas but I'd like to know why this happened so as to avoid this kind of issue in the future.
The flesh was done with GW Warboss Green thinned with Liquitex Airbrush Medium and applied to the model in about 2-3 thin layers with my airbrush. The wash in question was GW Biel-tan Green. The model was primed black via airbrush with Vallejo Surface Primer.
