warmachine magic spell question?

Hi ! I have a question when playing the warmachine game.

When my warcaster spell a magic, it roll a attack roll : (2d6 + focus point) vs DEF

Does the focus point means the Warcaster status card total focus point ?
(e.g. warcaster have 6 focus point in his status card, so "(2d6 + 6) vs DEF"

or

the focus point means the remaining points on the warcaster after allocated ?
(e.g. warcaster have 6 focus points and allocated 3 points on other warjets, so "(2d6 + 3) VS DEF"

Thank you very much!

Use the Focus stat for the warcaster, not the current focus on the warcaster. Unused focus on the warcaster only affects their ARM stat (+1 for each focus on the warcaster currently.) In the same way, use the Fury stat when Warlocks cast offensive spells.

So Grand Scrutator Severius would cast offensive spells at his Focus stat of 8 + 2d6 (and possibly another d6 if he boosts the attack roll) vs the opponent's defense, no matter how many focus he has left.
