Hello All,

I'm about to start my first work in progress...

We have a large Ork force for your consideration, including a Forgeworld Squiggoth. I hope the WIP allows me to improve as a painter and get some great ideas to make this a green skin force to reckon with.

Before we begin Id like to get some thoughts on a theme/ clan that you'd like to see progressed, and whatever the most popular choice is is what we'll go with!

So let the suggestions begin!

the questions to you is then.
What do you have? models troops, all bikes etc.
how do you wish to play? lotza boys shooting everything in sight? speeding around the board? lots of Dreads
and what colors do you like, and like to paint? This is the big one here. Like yellow (and can paint it well) Bad Moons. Brown and Earth colors? Snakebites. Whats the Name and possibly some of the story of your Warboss, that will help in figering out some of this stuff.

OK, in terms of models, this is what we are dealing with:

its not a very well balanced force I know, its just a combination of minis that have been collected over the last 2 years and need to be assembled, primed and painted!

1 x Ork Boss in Mega Armor
1 x Ork WarBoss with attack Squigg
1 x Ork Nob
8 x Ork Big Unz (conversions from Ogre Maneaters)
12 x Stikk Bommerz
5 x Burna Boyz
2 x Eavy weapon Boyz
3 x Ork Kommandos (OOP versions)
20 Ork Boyz
1 Forgeworld Squiggoth
30 X Gretchins

In terms of how I want to play - I'll pass on this one as I've been painting GW models for 20 years but never played a game in my life! Im just a painter and I'll ebay this lot when they're done.

Have no preference on colors, background story, etc so I'd thought Id open it up to the floor.

I think you should pick a colour you paint well and enjoy there is no poorer feeling than flogging your guts out on a colour only to see you have loads of figures left to paint.

Personally, I'd love to see a really well painted speed freeks army. They have red vehicles with flames painted all over them. Very striking if done well.

edit: course, after posting this I realize that you have absolutely no vehicles... Ignore me.

This is your key here and exilesjjb has it right but maybe for a different reason. Paint the colors you do well, the people interested well painted figures will get the colors they want.

The issue of selling this as an "ork army" in total is that it's not really an army, just a random collection of orks. Paint them up by unit type and sell them by unit type as none really go together otherwise, some aren't even mob size legal in the numbers you have.

If you're doing it for sale, just paint what you paint well and sell them as individual squads - you'll get more from them that way.

Good Luck!
