I\'m hoping you won\'t mind helping me out by throwing some votes at #66611. I have 5 submitted images so far & this is the only one which hasn\'t received the magic 50 votes.

I\'m keen to see how I rank so any votes would really be appreciated. And I\'m always open to comments/criticism too.

Nice, I really like the Banner, but we can\'t really se the rest of the mini. I gave you a 7.5.

Welcome to CMON. The \"Discuss Submissions\" area is where we go to get our egos crushed.

Actually it is not bad. You could really use another light. The shadows are real strong from only having one. Unfortunately you need good/great photography to go with your good/great painting skills to get good/great votes/scores. (boy what a sentence).

A little freehand inside the shield designs on the horse would have been cool. (Would be above my skills, but it would be cool).

Picks:
Your metals need a little more work. Darker wash and silver drybrush highlights - especially the chainmail.
Your blacklining looks a bit heavy. Try dark blue or brown or a narrower pen/brush.
The horse\'s right front hoof looks like it is metal? Horse shoes only go on the bottom of the hoof.
The horse\'s barding could use a bit more shading/shadowing. It looks all one color especially in the shield areas.
The lower left corner (our) looks frosty? Too much dulcoat? or glare from the lights?

Goods:
Your painting style is neat and clean.
The blending in the banner is done well. A little work and you will do great stuff here.

Thanks for the comments on this one, all points noted.

I\'m trying to remember them all now:

Lighting - definitely need a second light for the photography. I\'m learning so much about photography at the moment lol

The hooves - This model actually has it\'s entire hoof encased in some kind of protective shoe, I thought it was strange too, it\'s the first time I\'ve seen a model like it.

The caparison - man, I wish I\'d had that second light when I took this photo! The picture seems to have killed a lot of the shending/blending aswell as making the frosted effect in the bottom left. Not sure if I need a new camera or to find some way of diffusing the flash.

Shields on caparison - heh, freehand is out of my skill range too
Contemplated the use of transfers and asked the customer, who said no due to \'flat\' appearance of transfers, which I can relate to. Then considered applying transfers & painting over them. Then realised I only had 2 days to get the entire army back to the customer and it still needed to be based ???

Points taken about blacklining & drybrushing and any others I\'ve not listed here. I so wish I could have the mini back to get a better pic.

I like this place, I asked for feedback & didn\'t get crushed, yet

Welcome indeed. You have started off very nicely...

From looking at your entire gallery, you definately deserve a highish ranking.

well, i think this mini is quite good even if the pic doesn\'t help it

i\'ll limit myself to one suggestion: while the blue and red and white seem quite good, i think that the brown on the horse needs a little more work, an additional highlight to give more contrast and increase the dramacity of the mini.

It would have been nice to see some more photos of this one - you cannot really decide from this single one.

But if the mini is painted as well as your others - good job!

A little plain perhaps, but well painted.
