Venturing into Foreign Lands.......

Hey,

I havent posted on the forums for quite a while  so I thought I should ;).

The only miniatures I have ever painted have been Games Workshop and I decided that I should try something else. So I think I should order a Confrontation mini to broden my boundries. My question is, what minis should I paint to get myself started?

I\'d like something thats not too big (I\'m not a huge fan of painting extremely large model, seems tedious). Also something with not a lot of detail as I have seen a lot of well painted confrontyation minis and I know I wouldnt be capable of equalling that.

Help is, as always, greatly appreciated.

Why not try some of their Familiers - they are small, they have limited detail, you get three different models in each pack and they are a lot of fun!

Personally.. I\'d go for Clones of Dirz... cool looking, not that much of details... and just seem fun to paint. I\'m in the same position as you.. hopefully going to order some Rackhams next month and the Clones will sure be one of them.

go for it...

I like the familiars idea also, they are very cool little minis.

I wouldn\'t worry about \"not being capable\" part.

Get one you like and have at it.

At worst you can always drop it in some pine-sol, brake fluid, or whichever paint stripper you\'d like and start over...

I decided to take the plunge myself recently. I bought a Dirz monk and the Griffin duelists from fantization last night. I can\'t wait to see what they look like. :)

I think with Rackham you can bite off more thn you can chew sometimes.

I bought Azael after seeing her on Jen Haley\'s Paintrix website (Oh! how I wish she would update it!). I\'ve painted her face twice so far and stripped her back both times.

A definite case of ambition exceeding talent:):(.

I have since then bought a number of Rackham minis which seem destined to remain virgin metal until I pluck up the courage to paint them. Other figures, such as some of the familiers, begged for the paint to be slapped on:D
