vallejo smoke

hi there, i recently bought and used vallejo smoke, i noticed that there are a lot of quite large flakes in it, is this normal or have i got a duff batch, or does it need more shaking although i thought my hand would drop off with the amount of shaking i gave it.

the smoke that i got from tamiya doesn\'t have this phenomenon...

That\'s perfectly normal for vallejo smoke. I typically dilute it something like 5-10:1. That makes all the little grains go to the bottom, and I just try not to grab them. I never use it as a paint, but as a wash or glaze instead.

thanks for that, i only intend using it for washes and glazes so ill just have to be careful when loading the brush not to pick up any flakes
