Hey gang,im starting a salamander chapter army and i started by making my
lord/chaptermaster first.here he is i would ove some feedback on him before i start painting.there are still a few things to do but this is close to finished.

i will also be making a librarion and chaplian.please tell me what you think.

I think that looks great. Love what you did with the cape and tabard there. Only thing I am not a huge fan of is the over sized axe as compared to the rest of the model but thats jsut personal taste. Looking great so far can\'t wait to see this painted and the rest of the conversions.

i went with the axe because it was supose to be wielded by vulkan the primarch at one time.and he was a big man,lol.do you guys think he woud ook better with a haberd?like a grey knight one.

I personally really like the Grey Knight halberds so I think he would look a lot better with one.

I would go with the halberd style more imho, the axe looks too bulky despite being the primarchs. The background suggest that the primarch must not be too much bigger than the marine chosen to be he\'stan as the various items seem manageable (check the marine book artwork on his page for example)

your right but in he book it says its a spear and on the picture its a halberd.and then the rules for a relic blade says its a two handed sword or axe.so i whent with the axe,but i think i will give the axe to my dreadnought and i will build a halberd/sword now.stay tuned.

well, i just meant that it looks like youve added parts to the back pack, and the shin/legguards have extra slamamander detail on them, did you sculpt it?

yes, i sculpted it and then made a press mold.you never know if you\'ll want to make anouther.im starting my chapllian now and he will not have leg guards but he will have a ot of sculpt work on him.im working on a sword for hestan and when its done i will post pick.i allso resculpted his feet.they look better.i allso want to do a better base,but i dont know what i want to do.i was thinking of having him stand on a dragon head but that might be to much,i need feedback.

i would of thought that you would want the mini to take all the glory so i personaly would keep the base prity simple. i would place him on top of a rocky out croping, or maybe a huge pile of sculls or something.

well here he is.i fixed his feet and replaced his sword.he allso has new shoulder guards and backpack parts.i still have to give him a few trinkets and i might put more flames on the sword,what you think?

oh yeh im also going to try and attatch a hemet to his belt area,it will have like a dragon spikes down the center of helm.if i cant attatch it i will make him a bearer.
i am working on the chaplian now.he will be a cross of these guys.

i will post picks of progress later tonight.i have his weapon done and now im working on his chest piece.

The sword is looking much better than the axe did, also great job on the feet. Only two things that pop out at me is maybe making the blade of the sword a bit longer to balance it out compared to the long handle? It just looks a bit off with the handle being that long and the blade that short. Also I am not a fan of the flames on the blade, thats just personal preference though. Great job so far and can\'t wait to see the chaplain!
