U2U problem

i have been having this problem with my U2U messenger during most of the time i have been a member here. at first i thought it would fix itself but now i think it needs sorting.

the thing is, when ever i try to PM someone, i write in the name and click send then it just refreshes the screen - no box to put my message in. i probably sound dumb asking this and there probably some thing i am missing but how do i get this fixed? i havent been able to message some one unless i am replying to some thing

Do you have a pop up blocker?

I think IE believes the U2U is a pop up, and thus blocks it...


Try turning that off and see what you get.

I\'ve tried chaging all that and put this site into the trusted sites, still not working. I have IE7 so its probably that. Vike, what browser do you use? It sounds like you have some thing different that works, if you do I\'ll download that.

I have downloaded Safari and changed the settings to allow pop up windows, still no luck. Could some one post up a screen of how the U2U should look so I can pine over it..?

I\'ve just tried it, and yes, pop up blockers will stop it. I use Firefox and it\'s easy to allow pop ups from particular sites.

The only problem is that it then allows through some pop-ups along with the messenger and log-in pages.

Well, you can delete the site from the list after you\'ve sent the message. A bit of a hassle to do it every time but thems the breaks.

I\'ve got the firefox but still no luck. Could some one tell me what settings i should change and how to change them on either browser? Thanks for all the effort from you guys so far ^^

It should either be in your options/tools/security or browser (i think) or else you\'ll find an icon to the bottom right of the browser telling you that pop-ups are blocked. Using that, you can set certain parameters. I think.

In firefox you need to click on the tools menu then options. Then exceptions and you type in the url. However, if you try to send a pm you should get a message that states firefox prevented a pop up and you can go from the link on there and just allow the pop ups from the site. Hope that made sense.

Well I block pop up\'s with Safari but still get the U2U box to work fine.

I reckon there is something wrong with something on CMoN as opposed to the browser, considering you have tried 3 different ones.

The moon is in conjunction with Planet X. There are bound to be fluxes in the cosmos that affect the site on occasions.

I\'ve tried what you said Reverend and nothing has changed. Could some one get a picture of what their U2U window is like? Because I feel mine is missing alot on the bottom..

Hold the CONTROL key when you click on \'SEND\' to the person.
This bypasses all blockers and lets the message window open for you to
type your message.
