New plastic Trygon I've been working on, going for a bone look on the carapace rather than the traditional stripes.

Good start with the mini. I already like the carapace a lot.

I think I said it in another thread, but man. That is really an amazing sculpt...

I'm really liking yours. The bone carapace really is a nice contrast to the stripes that everyone puts on theirs. You've got a really unique look there. And the amazing part is, it actually works (I've seen some DIY space marine chapters that would give the stoutest of men nightmares).

Not a lot of progress over the weekend as I've been sick with strep throat, I did get the base started. I originally wanted to do a large earth mound that looked like the trygon had pushed up out of the mouth of a tunnel. But the base is entirely too small for that and the trygon takes up pretty much the entire bse with almost no room except for a very small small amount of detail.

I temporarily set the trygon on the base so I'd have an idea of where I could apply rocks, and marked where I wanted the stones. The open areas on the base are pretty much all taken up either by the trygon's body or his claws/spines.

I'm still deciding on colors for the base and what if any flocking grasses I want to use. I don't think the base will have bright green foliage on it as that seems a bit too cheery and full of life. I'm thinking a darker base with dry or dead grass would give it a more ominous and deathly feel?

I have a couple black reach skulls and bullet casing laying around that I'm toying with adding.
