Troubles with blue fire

Does anyone here know if a blue flame, like a really hot fire or torch or something, would give off a blue light? or would it stay a normal like whitish red light??

thanks

If I were to do it I would have the light be light blue. Keeping it light blue will make the torch look brighter. If this is for sourced lighting make the \'cast\' lit areas darker than the flame. This keeps the focus on the flame. Also, the amount of light cast by a flame is surprisingly little. Start dark and work your way up. Look at the first picture on the top ten list or in CMON do a search on my piece \'shootin\' guy\'. I don\'t remember the number. Good luck!!!!!!!!!

Well... there\'s oxy fuel. That\'s a super hot flame used for welding sheet metal.

That\'s actually a pretty huge flame, but you get the idea. See the color indicates how hot the flame is, so only the inner envelope of the flame is blue, that blue inner cone is then serounded by orange->red->black (smoke, not flame) colored flame as the fuel/air mixture cools off. So if you could get JUST the blue light (say a magical weapon or something) then it\'d give off a white light with a teeny bit of blue. If you want the real light off the torch in real life, that\'s the same color as candle light, only brighter/ more intense. You need to wear a welder\'s mask (not a hood, that\'s for arc welding) to look at is, while you can stare at a candle with your bare eyes and be fine in a minute.

Hope this helps:)

hm when i come to think about everyone does the highlights of a campfire, torch or whatsoever in orange
isnt the reflection of ordinary fire white or just very little orange?

yeah... it pretty much just brightens whatever color already exists. and the colors are muted anyway because normally there\'s a flame around because it\'s dark.

Yeah, like Itchy said, if you\'re doing a hot blue flame, make sure you don\'t do any black on the tips...that has to be one of my biggest peeves, as the smoke is the only part that is remotely black, and even then, it\'s only if the fire is burning a lot of solid material.

Well, I think it would not turn orange so much if it was like a plasma spark or one of them welders.. In that case, I don\'t think blue would be seen on surfaces, they\'d just be super highlighted in the direction of the flame... I might not be making too much sense since I just got up from a trytophan-induced nap.. :p
