Travelling to OZ, a question for more frequent flyers

mickc22

Granddad!
The journey starts on the 2nd of Nov, Yessss!!!! and returns to UK on the 12th
My main question is can I take my Asthma pumps with me on the plane?
If not, anyone know the way round it? I\'d never last that long without my preventer

I think you\'d be ok if they\'re under 100 mL. After all, I don\'t think they\'re allowed to separate you from medicine that could prevent you from dying! You might have to put them in one of those zip-lock bags, and it might be worth checking with the airline before you turn up on the door (if you\'re really worried, try and get something in writing to wave at bolshy security staff), then all your bases should be covered.

I never had a problem carrying mine, sometimes I put it in the ziplocks, but mostly just in my carry on bag to go through security and then back into my pocket.

Where are you going? There is soo much to see you really need a few years!

They are fine to take on the plane. Formally they request a doctors note or something (because they are aerosols) but I have never heard of one being asked for

OK thanks, I\'ll get my brother to double check with the airline, just to be sure

@Trevor: got a class reunion (30 yrs) in Geelong, but apart from that and see a bunch of old school mates, not sure what else we are doing

Other OZ tips...

Stay on the bricked road...(the yellow one)

Do NOT smell the flowers.

Watch out for flying monkeys.

If you find a shiny pair of shoes, they\'re yours.

that\'s not really helpful is it guys?

Says the guy who hasn\'t even been there yet! Suddenly you\'re some sort of expert!?

Well, when you get eaten by a flying monkey, don\'t come crying to us.

Ah but if you had been reading carefully you would have seen that he is going for a class reunion so he must have lived there :p

Yup. This is why I stopped making jokes and being cheerful. Any time I try, someone\'s got to come along behind and take the piss out of it.

well I don\'t recall any flying monkeys the last time I was there, but things change a lot in 30 yrs, so I\'ll keep an eye out for them just in case :D

There can be no chilling out when a man\'s life is on the line!

PS - Apparently you didn\'t know I was joking the second time, though I guess I didn\'t use a smiley. Whatever tho, still cracked me up. :D

I would go to your physician and get a note. Include your doctor’s contact information. I was instructed to do that when I moved from the US to Canada. And I was still stopped in SeaTac and harassed.:)
By the way; make sure you travel light on your way back home. I have had two friends who went to check in their bags and were told the bags were overweight and they would need to pay $10 for every kilo over or ship the bags. She shipped them and was taxed $270 by Canadian customs. The funny thing was she went to Australia to study. So, she had acquired a lot of stuff over the year. So, she paid $270 for own property. Another friend had the same thing happen to him too. But he came back to Korea.

I got my brother checking with the airline, I\'ll see what he has to say

I\'ve gotta see my Doc about another matter, so I\'ll also ask him too

I wont be bringing much back, maybe a couple of minis, I might see if I can grab a few of the Derivan mini paints while I\'m there too
