While my friends all think my minis are awesome, I know they can be better.
I have not painted much or very consistently (I will paint a mini or two then not do any for months at a time, so maybe four a year). Honestly looking at most of the work here made me want to hide under a rock and never paint again. But a combination of friends wanting me to paint a bunch of minis up for them, and me wanting to not suck as much has made me finally start a thread here.
I have mostly Vallejo Game Colors (hurray for inexpensive ebay lots!), and I have a big bottle of W&N Fluid Retarder (aka, my painting best friend).
I think my main problem is thinning my paints. Either they are too think or so thin they turn into washes and wont adhere to the mini.
Any way... here are my two most recent minis:
Wizard: My first attempt at trying to make something look like it is giving off light.
Most recent WIP: I have the hardest time with the eyes... I was so close to stripping this one and starting over and then they TADAed for me. This may be my best face so far.
And her all finished: Seems I need work on my camera skills. She seems a bit bright...
Any advice you can give will be greatly appreciated. I want to be worthy of the praise my gaming group gives me.
