To Keep or not to Keep a Hard question

My mother\'s been tidying out her attic at home.

She\'s finally demanded that I take all my old toys to my house, or they\'re are going to a carboot sale.

So I\'ve brought home all my old goodies.

Original StarWars
and a Box full of the quite rare Dungeons and Dragons toys.

I\'ve always kept them thinking they might be worth something in the future. Well 20+ years on, and checking e-bay they are worth squat (and not the hairy footed kind)

Should I call it a day, and just sell these guys for what little they\'re worth. There\'s a lot of stuff, and my Mrs gave me the evil eye when I brought them home???

Cant u put em in the loft/attic/basement/cellar/under the stairs/garage/shed/mistresses?

I say put them up on E-bay, they will not get much but the few bucks you get for them can better be spent on your current addictions (minis). The wife will be less annoyed to and if you do it right she will not even know you got a few bucks.

Many of the \'collectables\' we had as a kid are basically worthless nowadays because of ebay (and the availablility of items).

I\'d say donate them to a local charity...do you have a \'Goodwill\' type charity there? They take items, clean them up and resell them in a discount store. It keeps differently abled folks employed, and you can use the donation as a tax write off (in America anyhow...)

I\'m thinking that you really meant matresses, Dan.

Why not see if there\'s a Toy or Collectors Fair soon near you.
Failing that, have a trip to WHSmiths and grab a Toy & Collectors mag and see if there\'s someone local who\'ll give you a reasonable price.

Old Star Wars vehicles can be used to make all sorts of groovy terrain pieces, which would not be too tricky and time consuming to do, and would probably go for a fair old amount on Ebay due to novelty value. So if you don\'t cherish them too much have some fun chopping them up, put them on MDF, scatter some gravel about and paint them!
