Tiny dots in a straight line...

Just looking for any hints, tips, or tricks I can get to make tiny tiny dots in a straight line on some space ships miniatures I am working on.
I am wanting to recreate lit windows similar to the pic below. But even using my smallest brush and getting the tiniest amount of paint possible the dots still look like, well.. "dots" that are too big. Anything you got is welcomed and thanks in advance.

Depending on how tiny you're talking, one thing you might try is to take a pin or something sharp and make a row of shallow holes. Rub the paint into the holes and wipe off the excess.

Otherwise doing it the other way around surely helps. Just do the dots in whatever big or small form they come out and then carefully fix with the basecoat afterwards. It's a very helpful method to use when doing freehand.

If you want to go really nuts (and who doesn't) I've got two words for you: Fiber Optics! Google 'Lighted Star Destroyer' for inspiration.

For a project I'm going to do I ordered some of this stuff:

http://www.fiberopticproducts.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=822

It has a bunch of different sized fiber strands in one jacket. You can order it by the foot and it doesn't take all that much footage-wise because there's so many strands in it. I think I got ~6 feet which should do nicely for the Revell Republic Star Destroyer model kit. The fiber strands were pretty easy to remove from the outer jacket. LED's and battery holders are pretty cheap too. Just do a little Googling around and you can find the inspiration, materials, and know-how to do it up right.

Good luck!
