Well, I\'ve finally decided to get into confrontation. The figuers are so cool, and it all seems so awsome. Could someone describe the story, and a little of the game?

Okay, the basic story as I know it is this:

A long time ago, the gods lived with mortals and made the Empires of Eternity. These, however, were deppendent on their gods and soon killed each other with their wars. These wars stretched reality to teh breaking point, and when they were over, only a few survivors and the Gods survived. The Gods were Banished from the physical realm by I higher, supreme deity and all the Gods counciled none would return to Aarklash again. Instead, they would only be known by generation to generation by giving their strength to their faithful. Belial, though broke the ancient council and manifested himself on Aarklash, though only for short periods of time and the places where death and destruction run rampant. There is an ancient prophecy that states Rag\'narok, the end of time and the gods is coming soon. Confrontation is the skirmish game that preceedes the major battles of Rag\'Narok.

Confrontation is not like any other game. Turns are done at the same time, cards are shuffled to decided what model can be used and when no other actions can be made, another turn starts. There is also no set number chart for wounds or \"To Hit\" instead, most everything is done by a Statistic test, which is done by rolling one die and adding it to the stat. Combat works like this; Say I have a model with Attack 3 and he attacks one with attack 4.. I need to get a 2 or better, because 1 always fails. 6 can be rolled again and the score added, but a 1 after a 6 is a failure.

Hope this helps! Now if I can just get more people into it... :p

Well, it\'s a skirmish game, so there is no \"overall strategy\" for an army, if you want to go for a shooty army, most armies have options to do that too (except maybe mid-nor dwarves)

I would just pick the army that appeals most to you model-wise, that\'s the best way to enjoy it most. Of course if you want good bashers, you should take the wulfen! ;)

This sounds really cool, I think I\'ll go buy the rulebook, or it\'s equivelant, and choose a group! I\'ll have to get my friends into this:D

The rulebook isn\'t available seperately, it\'s included in the blister... When you buy basic troops, you get the basic rulebook \"Confrontation\" or depending on the type of miniature you get another rulebook. Incantation for mages and Divination for clerics etc.

But the good thing is you can download the english version of the rulebook for free on Confrontation.fr. But it won\'t contain that much information on the different armies...

I just started browsing their online store, rackham-store.com, and chose the army that appealed to me the most: Griffins. The site also contains loads of background information.

If you want to have more info on the cards that come with the blisters (special abilities etc) I can advise rackscan.net.

Hope this helps!!!

While I like Rackscan and sing its praises often, it\'s really not a lot of help if you\'re not able to read French. Definitely pick which figure looks the coolest to you and start from there. That\'s the hardest part really, too many to choose from.

I took a look on the store, and decided on the Dirz. The nest time I can get to my local gaming store I\'ll pic up a mini or two :D
