Alright..

Every man`s.... wait..

Every NERDY man`s dream is to have a game room to call he`s own.

Lucky me i have a nerdy wife who also want`s a game room

So when we decided to move a bit outside of town to a huge house i was given the basement as my domain to rule over as a man should! whoho!

so here i am , building my Nerdtopia

When all is done the plan is to have

-5 Warmachine/Hordes tables that can also be used for (insert cure word here) warhammer/40k
-the same tables can be stripped of terrain and accomodate up to 24 Magic players or an assorted number og boardgames/d&d etc etc.
-BAR!!!!!!
-Fireplace
-Toilet
-wifi/widi setup with shared network with the rest of the house for easy streaming
-big screen tv! with Ps3 and xbox

Here are some pics from when i started the project

Congrats on the new fun cave.
But five tables?!? That sounds a little overkill. Plus the pictures of the tables that you have look like your not putting enough room to move around each other. And I'm not sold on the fixed tables, but I like a more 'flexible' living area. Storage! Don't forget a place to store your terrain and games! And a sound system, a little something for background.

No jaccuzi i`m afraid :)

the 70 panels will be dealt with.. ish

Nad 5 tables is more like 1 huge doubble table, two single 40k tables and a single warmahordes table.. so the space is fine.. i have given much thought to the placement and space of each table to make sure it`s large enough yet small enough to give me room for what i want :)

Underneath two table there will be cabinets (se the brown fugly ikea crap on the pics) that will have room for terrain, books and whatnot.

build in sound system is noted and will be done !!

I'm in the process of planning a hobby room for my yet-to-be-built house, so I've been pondering the same things as you, I suspect. I reckon what you have in the room depends on your own needs. Fixed tables are a bit of a risk, especially in such numbers. Are you usually going to have that many people gaming at the same time? I paint way more than I game, so I plan to have a permanent, well-lit painting area and a fold-away game table which I can put out of the way when not in use (ie most of the time.) Wifi, network cable and stereo are all must-haves. The only thing I think you really, really need is more storage space. You can never have too much storage space. Oh, and good lights. Oh, and maybe some wall space for pictures of cool stuff.

Ps I am super, suuuuuper jealous of the space you have. I'm limited by typical Japanese house sizes, so my room is all about cramming as much in as I can without looking like im cramming stuff in. :(
