Tee Hee. :) I wouldn\'t worry about it.

As far as the book goes, it\'s written very much as a movie script. There are some serious flaws and his \"hero\" does some deductive reasoning which does stretch the readers credulity.

The \"Conspiracy theories\" exploited in the book have been around for a long time, and discussed more publicaly since the increase in ther use (or abuse) of the internet, but Dan Brown took some \"liberties\" in placing some of them together.

I don\'t expect too much out of the movie, but it should be a diversion from the mundane life. If it\'s as lightweight entertainment as \"National Treasure\" then it\'ll be ok.

Anyhow as a the book \"The Da Vinci Code\" was far better than \"Angels & Demons\", but both seem rather biased against the catholic church. (And that\'s from a non-believer! )

That is true, or at least towards certain sects within the Catholicism. But, I\'m a Catholic and I\'m not the slightest bit offended by it. It is, as you say, escapist fiction. BUT, that said, I almost guarantee the movie will cause a backlash throughout some in the religious community. Most suredly there will be some sort of organized prostesting. But that is the way of things, those people are entitled to be wrong, just like I am...lol

Going to watch it with my dad. He\'s a big fan of the book, so I bought him all Browns work. My dad sometimes uses it as a historical book, to look things up, I think it\'s pure fiction. It\'s the hype around it that causes these things.

Such a shame they had to choose Tom Hanks as Langdon :(
Oh well, there\'s allways Munich with Eric Bana :)

Yeah Tom Hanks wouldn\'t have been my first choice either, but the guy is an incredible actor...he should pull it off ok.

there was a story recently about how Tom Hanks acts as his character all the time when working on film, at home, in public... It\'ll make life interesting for the family!
