I was just reminising(sp*?) about my childhood cartoons and how much better they seemed than cartoons nowadays. Maybe I am wrong or that we all remember our younger years as such great times.??
My favorites:

1)Animated X-Men
2)The Amazing Spiderman
3)Captain Planet
4)Smurfs
5)Thundercats

Saturday morning cartoons when I was a kid (they were old by then but still showing):
Can\'t beat Bugs Bunny and Woody Woodpecker. (oddly enough, I had no problem with Bugs cross-dressing and seducing Elmer Fudd, but I found Tom & Jerry disturbing)

Later: Galaxy Rangers

Much Later: Animaniacs

Now: Safety Patrol; Recess

The old Looney Toons were mainstays
G-Force/Battle of the Planets/Gatchaman
Star Blazers/Yamato
Speed Racer
Kimba the White Lion
Johnny Quest
Flintstones
Scooby Doo
Fat Albert
Pink Panther
Rocky and Bullwinkle
The Hanna Barbera \'pantheon\', like Hong-Kong Phooey, Capt Caveman, Huckleberry Hound, Snagglepuss, Quick-Draw McGraw

Damn am I old or what?

When I was a young kid:
The original episodes featuring coyote and roadrunner (still like \'em :)) and Looney Tunes in general
Speed Racer (cringe)
Which Witch Is Which?
Wacky Races
Pink Panther
Stop The Pidgeon
Gigantor

Once I got older I was lucky enough to be able to see some of the new high-quality Japanese anime series:
Grendizer
Getter Robo
Mazinger Z
Gundam Wing was pretty good although I couldn\'t really get into it, loved the robot designs though; ditto with Space Battleship Yamato and Macross
Tekkaman I remember as being pretty damn great (I wonder how much I might have updated the memories though)
My absolute favourite at the time was Shinzo Ningen Casshern which totally kicked ass (literally and stylistically) and which I can still sing the title song to, phonetically, nearly three decades later! I\'m not sure if I should be embarrassed or proud about that :D
Gatchaman (not the execrable repackaged version for the American market) which I can also sing part of the title song to

Much later:
ReBoot (okay not a cartoon but I wanted to mention it)

Sort of now:
Invader Zim (feakin\' brilliant)
Weekenders
Jimmy Neutron
Fairly Odd Parents is a hoot

Egads How could I forget my college favorite: Darkwing Duck.
The earlier episodes were way better than the later though.

I am the terror that flaps in the night.
I am the party of 12 that arrives 5 minutes before closing.
I am Darkwing Duck!

( I made that up but here are some actual quotes:)
I am the fingernail that scrapes the blackboard of your soul.
I am the hairball that clogs your drains.
I am the bubble gum that sticks in your hair.
I am the ten dollar service charge on all returned checks.
I am the cholesterol that clogs your arteries.
I am the ingrown toenail on the foot of crime.

and, of course:
Clever of me to use my spine to break my fall like that.

JohnC, you\'ve got all the old animé there...but you\'re missing one of my favorites...Marineboy!lol

For me, the list is:

Speed Racer (nr 1!)
Kimba the White Lion (..When you get in trouble and you\'re in a fight...)
Marineboy
Astroboy
Gigantor (used to buid him out of Lego..)
UltraMan (not cartoon, but cartoony in the extreme)
Johnny Sako and his Giant Robot

and the american stuff:

Space Ghost
Wacky Racers
Catch That Pidgeon!
The Jetsons
Johnny Quest
Clutch Cargo

and the non-cartoons:

Lost in Space

My age is showing too.lol

Most of my childhood favourites are listed already.

Starblazers/Yamato
G-Force/Battle of the Planets
Spiderman and his Amazing Friends
(aka Iceman and his Adoring Fans)

Hong Kong Fooey...
#1 super guy!
Hong Kong Fooey...
Quicker than the human eye!

Now:
Teen Titans
6Teen
The Simpsons
Futurama
South Park

And with the morbid fascination of watching a train wreck in slow motion to see if (and confirm that) it gets worse with every episode....

Battle B\'Daman. It\'s so horrible that it only takes 3 minutes of the half hour to know that it continues to get worse.
Sometimes less.
