Tau Air Caste Pilot

2010 started slowly and quite busy, but I can finally present my first miniature for the year - a Tau Air Caste Pilot from Forgeworld. This is also my first experience with a resin miniature other than the occasional scenic base, bit or plinth. To tell the truth I was having some difficulties and learned the hard way that a file is probably not the best tool to clean up a miniature made of such a soft and fragile material ...

Anyway, now that the Tau Pilot is finished I am actually quite happy with the result. Not my best work, but (hopefully) neither my worst.

Really good one. The face is really well done and the armour is amazing. The base is also good.

That's a Necron Scarab (one of those little bugs in the front).

I really like his flesh, especially not being the standard blue Tau skin color. Great job.

This is the kinda thing that made me take a step back & seriously look into improving my techniques after coming to CMON. He reminds me of one of the green lanterns. The colors are perfect, & his face is so alive. Very inspiring!

IMO a little bit more contrast on the folds of the clothes but really good and smooth transitions are a masterpiece... Bravo !!!
