tamiya mixing

Does anyone know if you can mix tamiya products with any other brands of paint.

What I want to do is see if I can mix in a little of their flat base with vallejo matt varnish in order to totally flatten it down, as I find there is a little sheene to it.

Does this sound too crazy? Or does anyone think it might actually work.

If the paint can be thinned with water then it\'s very likely it can be mixed with most other paints than can too. If there\'s a bad interaction it should be immediate, so you\'ll know if there\'s a problem right away.
