Taking real drawing and painting skills to banners themes etc for minis

I am a pretty decent artist in drawing, painting and 3D and am currently in my third year of 3D Game art and Design school. I know a few GD winners and they have said I need to do a cool banner or cloak. My problem is the medium is so small and I am not sure how to approach drawing on such a small 3D surface not to mention drawing with a paintbrush. The idea I have is for a DIY chapter I am working on. I have the picture drawn and will post it later of what I want to do. Some of you out there that have done this work before how or what do you do to translate work to this area. I am used to drawing on tablets 8x14 or larger.

Many (and I mean many) years ago GW made the suggestion of drawing the picture out on A4 paper and then photocopying it down to the right size for the banner.
So, if you are used to drawing on 8x14 tablets (I\'m assuming Illustrator or similar package) then you should be able to draw it then reduce the size on the PC and print it out .

Hope that this helps.:D

I do this when I do banners. I draw them bigger then reduce them on the PC. Just remeber tho that every thing shrinks so you may have to oversize things for the 25mm scale. Like thin lines etc. If you can see it in your mind you can paint it you just need to practice.

Paint it big and reduce it on a good colour copier (CANON!).

CPU generated stuff looks cack on banners - they\'re better painted. I have, however, had some success with painting over prints...

I think you guys are a bit confused. I am drawing it and then going to try and copy the piece on the banner by hand not a decal, paste etc.

Yeah, paint it big and shrink it down on a copier.

Edit: Oh, it\'s one of those dodgy plastic marine banners. I\'d personally make a new banner pole and use paper ones. But that\'s just me...:)
