Swine Flu now!!

Granddad!
Just been in bed for practically a week with Flu, only to find out it's probably Swine Flu, and I'm gonna be here for another week :curse:

Explains why I wasn't feeling any better when it usually only lasts 3-5 days, at least the Tramadol will come in handy :smile-big:

Only reason you don't hear about it in media anymore is because people have stopped being scared of it... If no one's scared then no one buys the headlines. :/

I had swine flu but I didn't think it was that bad. I was off three days form work, got lots of painting done, and got to quarantine myself in the basement without any kids. IT WAS AWESOME! I rocked through a couple season of Battlestar Galactica. I got lucky for sure. I wouldn't have believed that it was swine flu but they tested me because I had little kids.

Get better amigo! You can't go around your new grandkid with swine flu!

i had a flue a month before xmas, dont know if it was the real deal but flue enough anyhow. also tried to paint but that didnt work out too well with the sweathering and shivering. so, there was a week off work and absolutely no painting done. kind of frustrating ;)

I'm in the middle of a cold right now. The last person here to get it.
My 85 year old dad got it first, needed xrays and antibiotics, he's almost over it and then he gave it to me. I'm at work:mad-tongue: See how long I can last....I have a craving for a bacon sammich even though I can not taste a thing.;)

Best wishes for a swift recovery Mick. You're not doing too badly so fingers crossed you'll have no problems.

Swine flu is not as scary as it has often been made out to be. The main worry was lack of existing immunities in humans, leading to a greater likelihood of pandemic status. But in terms of the range of severity it goes from about the same as a head cold all the way to fatal lung complications; which is also true of many strains of influenza.

I'm bad enough with the "regular" Flu, it goes straight to my joints and my knackers for some reason, I don't bother fighting it, but I'm usually only in bed for 3-4 days, not 7 like I have been. And it goesn't feel like I'll be getting out of it any time soon
I've had the Flu Jab for the last few years, because of my Asthma, so I have been ok, I was just thinking I need to go to the Docs and get this years jabs.... :rolleyes!:

the Asthma nurse did have to change my pumps as they weren't helping, that was before I found out it was swine flu

It may not be scary until your chest starts tightening up, and you cant breath properly, and when you take your reliever nothing much happens. Then you start thinking do I need to think about calling an ambulance if this gets any worse.....yeah, it got a bit scary at one point...
