Actually looks like the Democrats are going to fight it out till the end, while the Republicans are falling in line behind, gasp, a moderate.

ugh...

I don\'t see any worthy candidates for presidency this year... I don\'t like Obama at all, his whole agenda includes more and more programs which means how is he going to pay for it? More and more taxes... Plus, he debates like an idiot, standing there all twitchy lifting is right hand and shaking his head while Clinton is talking. Also, pulling out of Iraq in 16 months? Sorry buddy, but cleaning up Bush\'s mess will take a little longer than that, unless you wish to screw over that whole region and leave it to chaos. Presidential? No way, he would break under any kind of pressure, even worse than Bush.
I don\'t like Clinton either, with a mandatory national health care plan that will cost too much money and be abused by the many freeloaders who live off government handouts already in this country. I like my private healthcare and the choice.. let\'s reform that and make it more affordable and make the insurance companies have a less of a hold on everything...
and McCain, well, I wouldn\'t want to vote for him, because he would just be an upgraded version of Bush, but who knows this year... if the Democrats were smart they would have thrown Al Gore into the mix again, I wouldve voted for him in a heartbeat...
now I\'ve rambled, ugh politics... off to look at more minis!

We don\'t need any more Bushs or Clintons in the White House. They\'ve had their run. Both did some decent things, both did some idiotic things...the idiotic things outweigh the rest.

I live in Iowa, and I caucused for Mr. Obama. So thankfully, the political ads and home calls ended for us back in Jan. (at least until AFTER the official Conventions...)

Doesn\'t mean I\'ll necessarily vote for him, but I like him well enough to have him on the ballot.

I\'m glad to see he\'s pulled ahead in the overall delegate count.

McCain doesnt\' seem like the end of the world either, he is much more moderate.

But, I liked Huckabee just because he was going to name Chuck Norris as the Secretary of Defense.

\"Star Wars defense network?! Who needs that? We\'ve got Chuck Norris!\"lol

Vikey, I think that you\'ve opened a can of worms.

I\'m really surprised how much the international media picks up on this.

I can understand the actual election, but our primaries?

I know I was speaking (over IM) to good old Finn back in Jan. when we had our Caucas, and he seemed to know just as much about it as I did.

No wonder some of you folks get sick of America\'s influence...it seems you cannot escape it at times.

I dunno, I just figure something like this was \'our own business\' and nobody would care about it outside of this country (which could still be true)

I agree with those who have said that there are no decent candidates this time around.

Both Dem candidates will lead us right to the edge of socialism before finally jumping off that precipice with both feet (evidence the \"redistribution of wealth\" provisions the dems have included in the \"economic stimulus plan\" in order to agree to bipartisanshipfulness (bushism there). Can anyone tell me where the money is going to come from to give a tax rebate to folks who didn\'t pay taxes last year due to marginal income? I have the answer: It\'ll come from the taxes you and I paid. It\'s our money.)

McCain is about as conservative as Hillary is dainty not to mention he was born just after the Earth hardened.

My vote would have been for Duncan Hunter (yes I\'m a nutty conservative) who I truly believe was a great representation of the conservative ideology but the guy is pitiful at self promotion so no one has even heard of him despite the fact that he\'s in DC now working for the fine people of the USA.

So as it is I\'m hoping that Hillary beats out Obama for the nomination and that he gets all huffy and decides to run against her on an independent ticket, thereby splitting the vote and making way for McCain to win (gag).

Normally, as you know Jim, I would make some kind of sarcastic comment here about American Influence.:D

However the real issue is that American Policies seriously influence our political agendas and societies, and despite our complete independance politically the UK is heavily bound to America and it\'s actions. So whoever\'s hand is on the Presidential tiller steers a course for a lot of the world.
Therefore the growing concentration of our media on the presidential election in the US is comprehendable, however much it irks some of us Brits.

In Sweden it is just as bad or good. Everything that happens makes headlines.. and well everybody seem to have an opinion as well.

Made a test too I was apparently closest to the now withdrawn candidate Dennis Kucinich. Hm... next up was Obama.

Abstain, you know it makes sense. :D

But in seriousness I do wish the Abstention option was one on the Ballot paper

I am sad and loiter on a political betting forum. I find that most of the time it hs quite a realistic slant on elections. When people are betting large sums of money, the party affiliation propaganda tends to go out the window and they have a far more realistic view of things.

Wht is interesting is that the ebsite last night posted up the latest mounts of money being bet on the UK spread beting markets on various electins and there is currently about ten times as much money being bet on the US Democratic Primary in the UK as is being bet on the Mayor of London elections. Over million sterling in the last 24 hours.

Bearing in mind this is UK folks doing the betting, that is lot more interest than I would have expected on a \'foreign\' election.

I think part of the reason more folks in the UK know more about it is because, like many US issues, it\'s pushed in our face more than, say, The French or German elections.

America as a single country has more influence on the world economy than any other single country.

You do have a bit of a tendency to invade other countries from time to time.

So who is in power there can make a significant difference to the world at large.

@mattrock the funny thing about your statement is that considering the size of your deficit it has been a very long time since your taxes covered anywhere near what your government spends, dem or rep

That\'s a small price to pay for all our good traits!

For instance, \'oh look, the Americans have just overtaken Liberia, but wait! Did you see this new movie coming out!!
