Super Glue Tip

Hey all,
Do you ever have a problem glueing an arm or weapon on your mini? Seems like you hold it forever and the only thing that holds on the mini is your fingers?

Well I found out not too long ago that Super Glue does not set by drying via air.. It cures using moisture. Your glue will set faster in a more humid environment.
Armed with my new information I found that If you put the glue on one side of whatever you are gluing, then slightly moisten the other piece, the glue sets up almost instantly.

Thing is, if you moisten the surgaces, the bond will not be as strong.

I\'d suggest you lightly buff your surfaces with fine sandpaper, and that way, you get a bond almost as resistant as pinning (wich is great on heavy pieces, BTW).

related issue on superglue

If you break a mini cleanly, can you slap it back together with superglue without pinning or will the bond not be strong enough to survive handling?
I accidentally broke the arm off a mini and the arm was mostly lead (real old mini) and almost a cm in diameter. I just put glue and stuck it back on along the break. The break was clean so there were no gaps to fill, but I do worry his arm will fall off some day.

Naaahh....

As long as the pieces fit well together, superglue will do just fine, as long as you aligned the arm properly. Pinning is only necessary when you are dealing with heavy pieces with a relatively small contact surface, like dragon wings, bulging arms with huge maces and the like.
