Stuff on my desk

Hello!

Long time lurker, rarely post. Because I have a habit of going on really, REALLY long breaks between painting and... well, not much of anything, I decided I needed some motivation from you lot.

Sorry in advance for the terrible photos. I currently only have access to my iPhone and an old Samsung Digimax 430 for taking photos. It's something I intend to amend as soon as I reasonably can, if I can tame my addiction to purchasing models & miniatures that I'll never get to within my own lifetime (I can't be the only one).

Here's what I'm working on right now; Ammon Miniature's Nosferatu.

Sorry for the glare. Some of the paints I use are quite glossy, which I tame down with a matte spray once I finish (and brush on gloss where I want it).

Skin, hair, fangs, fingernails, can & straw and lapel are far from complete. I still need to do liver spots and make the pustules appropriately putrid on his skin. The eyes are about 80% done (but you can't really see them in the first photo).

Comments?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the comments.

I tried to keep the color selection minimal. It's similar to what I'm actually (re)doing my Eldar army in.

No painting tonight, hopefully tomorrow.

Here's an update. :)

Skin and hair is pretty much complete. There may be a couple areas that need contrast increased or to be slightly tidied up around the eyes, but otherwise I think it's done.

The suit jacket is pretty much done as well, minus the buttons. I'm going to attempt NMM for the first time with both those and the metallic for the can once I get to it. And yes, that's a feeble attempt at freehanded paisley on the lapel. I only tried to do an cartoon indication of it. I think I may need to do a thin glaze over it to smooth it out a bit and add some more highlights at critical areas.

Now, the can. What to do with the can? I WAS thinking Tru:Blood, but I don't think the color of the label would go very well with my guy as he is.

Ideas?

Thanks for the comments, especially Valentin (Ammon). Love your work and looking forward to painting the Goblin Knight!

@KruleBear & TrystanGST: I wanted to keep a fairly simple over-all color palette by sticking to mainly purple and green. That's why I've held back from doing the can up until now.

I just had a thought. How about it being a can of "Monster" energy drink (which I hate the taste of, btw). The green in the can art is pretty close to his bow-tie and eye color.
