Strengthening a joint without pinning

HELP REQUIRED: I\'m converting my Marauder Horsemen to have flails. I\'ve cut the plastic Marauder flail arms at the hand and attached them to the metal axe arm in the Horsemen box with the hand cut off. Is there anyway to strengthen this joint? Pinning won\'t work because the arm is too thin. The hand is super glued but is there any way to make it stronger? I thought about wrapping GS around it, but I can\'t sculpt and don\'t want to lose any detail. Any help would be appreciated.

Course you can pin it.
When I sent this to Ritual:

The staff snapped and he managed to pin it, and the staff is only 0.5mm thick or something.

Yeah you can definitely pin a hand-to-arm joint if you have a bit small enough (and the wire to match). The wire doesn\'t have to go very deep to help a lot.

If you don\'t have a bit small enough then you could try superglue + a tiny dot of epoxy to one side, so you have two types of adhesive holding the joint. I tend to mix glues for higher-strength joints (even with pins, for heavy pieces) but I\'m not sure if it\'ll make a difference really on something this small.

You could try sculpting a bracelet to partially support the joint from the outside. Better still would be if you can add a gauntlet around the hand and wrist. I know you say you can\'t sculpt but this is a good time to learn :) Seriously, most people start off not being able to sculpt - I couldn\'t - and beginning with minor conversions is the usual starting point.

Thanks! :)

And yeah, what they said. You can most definitely pin in this case. A marauder arm isn\'t exactly slender even. The staff in the photo Matty linked to, while not being as thin as 0.5 mm (I\'d say slightly above 1 mm in diameter), was drilled through with a 0.6 mm drill bit and pinned with a thin needle that I cut into small pieces.

If you have trouble finding small drill bits look at bits for Dremels. You can fit those into a regular pin vice as well.
