Stompa/Gargant

So I really wanted to make some Stompas and play apocalypse with my friends (My infantry based plague marines don\'t have much fun). But the problem is I don\'t have much of a size reference. I\'ve heard all measurements, so how tall are these things supposed to be? And is a Stompa just a little Gargant? Any info would be helpful, I\'ve been all over the gallery and I seem to get different size references for the same model.

NOTHING Ork is \"Standard\" :D lol

Basically, as I understand it, Stompas are the warhounds or knights of the ork titan legions :p

I believe the sizes go Stompa, Supa-Stomper (Warhound sized), Gargant (Reaver sized), Great Gargant (Warlord sized) and Mega Gargant (Imperator sized). Of course those are rough comparisons but I suppose you\'d be looking at a normal stompa to be around 7\"-8\" and the supa-stompa around 9\"-11\", or something like that.

If memory serves this is how it used to go in epic with the Imperial equivalents and approximate sizes:

Ork boy.........................Marine........... 0.5cm
Stompa.........................Knight............ 2cm
Slasha gargant.............Warhound...... 3.5cm
Gargant........................Reaver............. 5cm
Great gargant...............Warlord........... 6.5cm
Mega gargant................Imperator....... 8cm

Bear in mind that the scales in epic were even more off with regard to infantry vs vehicles than they are in 40k so you have plentry of leeway to work with. I agree with Roger though a stompa needs to be about 7-8\" tall.

As for your plague marines how about looking at the old epic ranges and coming up with your own rules for stuff like Plague towers etc. Also that Baneblade conversion they did with the huge gunk tanks looked rather nice. The Death Guard did have the odd Baneblade at their disposal if you can believe the Horus Heresy card game.

Yeah, I\'ve been thinking about the plague reaper as well. The big thing about the stompa\'s was that I have always wanted an ork army, but couldn\'t invest enough for the big force. Home made stompa\'s could get a guy on the Apocalypse field for under 50 bucks.

If you go to the bell of lost souls site, they have new rules for basically all the heavy toys, including some really nasty looking big chaos gun jobbies.

And baneblade rules for us founding legions :D:D:D:D:D
