Stimpack

Does stimpack still work if the card played is dead? I know it won't happen very often (and has only happened once so far while I've played) but should both players play a dead card, does stimpack still work? The card says it doubles your total, but doesn't clarify whether the card needs to be live or dead for this work. As you're only looking at team stats when both cards are dead this could mean the difference between winning and losing a contest, and with an attack action could mean the difference between an alive or dead player.

Thats a good question. Here is my assumption: If you played Stim + Dead card vs Live Card, you would effectively have a total of 0, and 0x2 is still 0. If you played Stim + Dead card vs another Dead card, your total would be your +stat for that contest, so you would double that for your total. Stim would still have to be live obviously, but I imagine this is why Stim specifically doubles your "total" instead of the energy card played.

A related question that came up in one of our games...can you play TWO stimpacks at once? For, as my son exclaimed, "Going for an ultra-kill!!!"

I think foote has the right conclusion on stim pack with a dead card. You would have your bonus doubled and that would be your total.

I would think you could double stim pack a contest if so desired. It would be a x4 modifier, but, it would be two cheats and burned cards without figuring in a energy card. That could be 4 fouls from one contest! The penalty for the most fouls has be a deciding factor in more than one of my games...

But one of the things I love about this game...once you know you're already in foul trouble, might as well go crazy with it and cheat even more. Especially with the kills so you can use the kill bonus to offset the cheat penalty.
