Star Wars

I\'ve been a bit in the Star Wars mood of recent, and have been both repainting and creating starwars minis.

This is the first of my re-created minis.

It\'s basically a heavily converted Games-Workshop zombie.

Decided to create a un-known sith character from the orginal Jedi Knight computer game. He\'s a Twi\'lek Sith.

The lightsabers need re-doing in a later date when i can think of a suitable thinner replacement. (any suggestions welcome)

@ James - Yes If you look at a couple of my other minis, I\'ve stripped and re-painted a couple of the WOTC Star Wars Minis

Talion...thats an excellent conversion. I remember that guy from \"Jedi Knight\".

The lightsaber is the tough part. I made a \'star wars\' conversion a few months back using a Sacred Blade mini. The lightsaber I used was just a length of paperclip and some green stuff for the handle...but I\'d still prefer to get that \'glowy\' look as well....What about the plastic rods that the NECRON use? Have you ever tried molding that into a lightsaber?

Nice conversion. I think the blades look better painted glowing than just clear plastic. Im sure someone out there knows how to do it.

Looks cool Talion. Been and voted. I would sugest a paper clip and some putty for the handle. I am not sure if it would be thick enough though. So you may need to experiment some, maybe some copper wire might work better, I know places like Michaels and Jo-Annes sell different sizes. As for painting it I would sugest some osl.

May the Force be with you!

Looks great to me, although I am not a big SW fan... he just looks so cool, the colour scheme is fantastic, as is the sculpting :wow: great work

happy painting :flip:

I think it looks very good, though the head looks somewhat disproportionately large.

For thin rods, here\'s another suggestion: greenstuff (or brown or any other color of 2-part putty).
Roll a small ball of it, then lay it on a flat surface and press down gently while pushing forward and backward. Wear a latex glove or use something smooth to press with so you don\'t leave fingerprints. You will find you can roll it however thick or thin you wish, and it\'s pretty sturdy when it hardens. I have done this frequently for polearms and weapon handles.

Yeah a couple of people have said his head\'s big. I based it roughly on this picture and he seems to have a melon head in it.

As for the sabers, I\'m currently working on another StarWars conversion and will try different things for the sabers. If they look good I would will replace his.

I\'ll start a new thread in the painting section for ideas on how to paint the glowing sabers.

The difference is in the pic above, his limbs are extremely long. If he were to stand straight, his head would be proportional.

aah Boc! Great idea! he was cool - but pretty hard I seem to remember, you had to fight him inside the temple just before jerec at the end, right? haha, JK was an awesome game...

What about just using brass rod for the lightsabers, there are lots of different sizes so you should be able to get the right thickness.

Why don\'t you do some of the other characters, like umm, let\'s see...was her name sariss? or what about those two orc/ogre guys, gork and pik weren\'t they...?
