Spray varnish and static grass?

Hi,

I\'ve just about finished my first ogre unit and im going to use some static grass for the bases, and im also going to be using some GW purity seal spray varnish (which to be fair i\'ve never used before)

And i was wonder if it is better to add the grass after the spray varnish (and some of the grass might get blown off, or turn into a vanrishey mess) or to stick the grass on and then spary with varnish (hoping the varnish secures the grass)

Any ideas?

Thanks.
Mike.

Varnish first add the grass afterwards unless you want the Ogres to look like they are walking through grass after it has rained/early morning dew. :D

Thanks, i did think as much. But once i\'ve varnised them and stuck the grass on, is there a way to keep the grass from falling off? (im hoping to get a few games of WHFB done with the minis)

Yanno, I actually spray after I put the static grass on. I find it helps the static grass to stand up better. The only times I\'ve had the grass take on that whitish \"dew\" look was when I used the Citadel clear coat -- never had a problem with the Model Master gloss or Testor\'s Dullcote.

Now... harvest grass, the stuff that\'s much taller... that will get dewy no matter what spray you use.

The problem he has is that he is in the UK and Testors Dulcoat is like rocking horse Sh*&e over here:D

I always put the static grass on with super glue (B & Q sell a liquid brush on that is good for this) when the super glue is dry you can brush it to make it stand up.

It stays on very well. I use my smaller stuff in Warmaster tournaments and considering I have been playing in the European circuit for two years now I have not had any problems with this method:D
