Specimen Tank

I want to do a specimen tank but not sure what to use to fill the tank around the mini. I live in the USA and was wondering what products to use to simulate the mini floating in water in the specimen tank

There may be a refraction problem here, Light will end as it goes through the "gloop", test on something 1st..

Please elaborate Tercha, Im not sure I get you. If it says it dries clear wouldn't I be able to see through it?

Hi MrePhunk, I think "water effects" would be the term to search for here on the forum to see what other people have used.

Do you have a picture of the mini & tank? It might help people to advise on a particular product.

I've not used water effects myself but my reading assorted threads over the last year suggests there are various issues as the volume/depth increases, requiring pouring in layers, popping bubbles, shrinkage, cloudiness, etc.

Assuming it wouldn't be too expensive I think that a test run in a small clear plastic box of similar proportions to the tank would be essential. Even more so if you want to work out how to tint it or submerge/suspend items in it.

Good luck :good: cheers, B.

@Tercha . the bending light will only be a problem if viewed from above. I am guessing that these will be viewed from the side. The small size might give problems with respect to a lens effect as you look through it??? Best do a quick test before yu try the real thing
