For the runes I\'d suggest indenting the runes by covering an area with green stuff, and pressing it into a raised pattern.

It doesn\'t need to be particularly rune-y, you could just find something with a swirly pattern on.

You have been watching Mel Gibson prancing around in a kilt again haven\'t you...
THe g.S. stuff does look quite good if it\'s only your second effort the hair in the second marine doesn\'t look very good though, you should try working from a photo to get it hanging right., but the mold lines need cleaning up, and it looks like there\'s way troo much paint on the mini.
Dry brushing is great for fur and other textured areas, and it looks ok on armour if you use it together woth washes, but it would be a good idea for you to experiment on other areas with different techniques.

One of the things I have been doing of late is multiple washes of multiple colors. On my silver, I wash purple ink/green ink/ purple ink/green ink/blue ink. All of these are very very thin, the blue being the thinnest. It give a look of anodized metal. I then give a glaze of whatever my middle silver color is, again very thin to even out the previous washes. It takes some playing with, and don\'t get crazy with how much is on your brush. I use magic wash to thin and then I use a coffee filter (TY TABstudio) to drain away the excess so the brush is just damp.

Thats just my way, and I am still experimenting with all sorts of varying results. I hope this helps and doesn\'t serve to confuse.
