Space Marine for my son

My 4 year old son picked this chap and asked me to paint him, he also chose the colour scheme so forgive me if it does not meet any codex standard. A few touch ups left to do here and there and I experemented with some wet blending on the sword. This is my first effort at space marines and am fairly pleased so far, the camera always make them look worse to me, oh well practice, practice, practice.

If your first effort at painting marines is that good you have every right to be pleased with your work! :) The colour scheme is nice and quite close to the colour scheme for the Salamanders chapter. The wet blending on the chainsword looks nice and the colour you used is also nice and quite rare. My only criticism would be that the shoulderpads could use a bit of shading where the metalic edge meets the green inner shoulderpad and the cloth and purity seals could use some more highlights. Anyway I think you'll have perfected your marine painting skills by the time you get to teach your son how to paint them himself. ;)
