Space marine Backpacks

Hey guys,

I'm building my first models. Little nervous.

I want to remove the spru remains left on the vents of my space marine backpacks. Anyone have any good tricks?

You can also use a hobby knife to do it too though that takes a bit of experience. I'm at the point where its very rare that I pull out the files to deal with a plastic mini. Stick with Paul's (Moonmin82) advice though for the moment, if I could draw a diagram or show a few pics that would help , but all I can say is don't file it flat, take your time & use a slight curved/rounding motion. The shape of the file shouldn't really impact anything either.

I tend to use a sharp scalpel (Swann Morton with No 10 blade) and use a mixture of scraping and gently 'cutting', letting the blade do the work. If you're not used to using a knife in this way, needle files and wet & dry sandpaper is good. Normal sandpaper tends to be too coarse and falls apart really quickly.

The biggest tip I've got is whatever you use, don't put too much force behind it. That way, if you slip or touch a bit that you didn't mean to you're only going to cause minimal damage if any :) Plus a slipping needle file often encounters fingers...
