Well it's been a while since I've had a WIP thread here. I've got some free time now (commissions aside) and have decided to dust off some old minis (literally!) and get back to work!
As I've been out of painting minis for some time, 2 years or so, I've lost my touch a bit but hopefully all the work on full scale stuff will make up for it.
Bought this on a whim from ebay when the game came out. I would've bought the whole game but as GW's marketing geniuses/lunatics saw fit to only make a limited copies (and they moan about mould prices!) I just went and bought some nice tools and supplies instead.
The mini was undercoated with Vallejo airbrush grey primer. This gave a gorgeous smooth finish to work from. Basecoat of VMC dark red brought up to VMC red. the chip were picked out in burnt umber/sepia and natural steel.
The gold is terrible. It just would not work right. I started with GC Glorious Gold and moved onto VMC old gold. but for some reason it just wasn't giving an even coat. I'm going to strip the gold right back and work it back up from a very dark bronze mix.
C&c welcome!
