Hiya

Been here for many years but not so active. The most active was when I painted a FW chaos dragon(uh, ok ok a wing for those who remember ).

So I'm back again with help from SkelettetS. I paint everything that looks good in my eyes but got a special love for Flames of War and Secrets of the Third Reich.

Feels funny to start a WIP thread with a finished figure but here it goes.

Nice, I just think you could have shaded more the helmet and maybe a freehand on the red.

Thanks man! Yeah thought about a freehand too but couldn't stand it anymore

Next project a 1/35th scale Brummbär from Dragon Models, all the track links are handpicked and then glued together...Only the other side to do !

phew thats a lot of work there just for putting the stuff together. gluing tracks how exciting!:bulgy-eyes: lol. looking forward too see some serious weathering on this one... brummbär?

More work done, only need to finish with oil on the hull. Why a sideskirt is so rusty is because this will be put in a diorama where it fulfills that role of being rusty ^^

More work done, trying to get different colours into the skin, so I'm still wroking on him...

Pretty cool, I suggest you to highlight the skin until white.

Though I stripped him and tried to redo the skin and it didn't get any better....It seems my blends aren't that good and it gets to much contrast. Gonne strip him again and get on him again...

too much contrast? :sarcastic: well perhaps a matter of taste but i think its should be lot of contrast! of course decent blendings are nice... but i think your first attempt was a pretty good start!

New update, don't mind the shinyness its oil paints. Gonna HL more later and after it is thoroughly dry I'm gonna start building up more intense shadows and different colours into it....

Hi Solar, I've only just noticed the bird feet on the Pirate's shoulder! Parrot I presume? Is the bumpiness on the face just more evident because of the different photo angle? He's certainly going to have a couple of warts to paint up. Though I guess many years at sea won't leave you with a catwalk models complexion

Nice terrain, do you have a Khorne army? Is that a water effect on the base or did you just varnish over orangey paint?

I see you've got a set of those rather nice paint pot holders for your workspace too :jealous:
