homemade fresh lime soda. Recipe brought back from India by my hubby.
1) make a simple syrup (dissolve sugar in hot water to supersaturate. less water better in my opinion.) For a 12 ounce glass, I use about 1 tbs of sugar, just enough water to cover. Put in microwave and nuke until sugar mostly dissolved
2) put syrup in bottom of glass
3) pack glass with ice, and fill almost all the way with soda water or tonic. I like the slight bitterness of the tonic better
4) add juice of 1 lime and stir slightly
I know I didn\'t give many measurements...I don\'t use them in cooking much.
You can of course alter the order in which you put the ingredients. The above results in a soda which is sweeter as you drink it down, which I like.
