Don\'t know if asking here is your best bet -

For example I have the core of an Empire Army (WFB) and the core of a Lizard Man Army (WFB), along with the core of an IG and Ork armies for 40k.

Sounds like you want to get into armies, so I would suggest 2 armies. This gives you options depending on what you want to work on at THAT moment.

From the ones you suggested, if you want something not so stressful at first to paint, go with the Dark Angels termie or land speeder versions. Less models and lets you get your feet wet.

For you 2nd army go with something you can have more fun with and challenge yourself. Dark Eldar or Empire would do that.

yere i know, but i have/am painting some sm (about 30+) to sell on ebay to get money for all these new ideas, with these are inqistor allies (2 inquisitors 1 green stuff made, +10 sisters of battle and 5 grey knight termies) this isnt a \"legal\" army, also i want 1 army wfb and one 40k so ill pobably go for \"option 7\" so i can pay 4 the army/s with models like st celetine because they seem to go for alot on cmon and i can paint steel senmm
so i think ill get the termies and the brettonions cos i can take time painting the models cos there not big armys and have some really cool models (i plan to do the green knight, but this moight be a bit hard)

7 is what I do. I have 2 small Guard and Wood Elves armies that I wheel out to play against friends and at in store events and then just buy what ever minis look cool. For example my Guard are all Cadians but I\'m still going to get a shed load of Death Korps at Games Day simply because theyre so beautiful.

If you are a painter, not a gamer, I\'d suggest you don\'t even concern yourself with armies.

Just work on the minis you like and you will stay more motivated. If there are a few in a particular GW range that you are into then you could always group them together to use in one of the smaller skirmish games rather than 40k or Warhammer.

There are alwasy the multiple options like 40K daemon hunters and witch hunters, then you could also start an IG army or SM army as allies.

yere i think ill do that actually and build up a small \"personalised\" force for brettonia and termies, iv also got some ideas ill try and sculpt, (e.g-adeptus mechanicus lord, inquisitor based on artwork by jhon blanche, etc, etc)

BUT, if anyone has any ideas ill still like them just remember that as i paint slowly i couldnt manage a horde army,(such as nids/orks etc etc)

What ever is current as far as armys go.. so If I weere painting right now Id be painting Chaos space marines. After that anything that could be used in Apocalypse.

As for making a profit, that depends on your skill level. Theres a thousand average painters out their painting figures for sale right now and non are not making much money. If your top of the class and have a long list of awards you stand to do ok. Just don\'t go into this thinking if I paint it..they will pay for it..

ok, well iv chosen option 4 because i would never have enough money for 2 armys and extra, and am simply doing \"display\" peices and some, other models for me to keep, like the new(?) space marine librariams and asmodi, the first mini im doing is either(all caos)
1.huron blackheart
2.st celstine converted to slanshee
3.nurgle lord(special character typhas)
4.slanshee lord (wfb)

also if anyone wants to get these models on commision i dont mind selling on ebay(i dont have my own site) for about £5+ (e.g n.o 1 =£10 sell for £15) so expect some stuff in 1 month or so (iv got to sell my marines.
